Lauren Rouse
I am a 25-year-old visual development artist, illustrator, and animator. Born in Essex, UK, in 1996. At 16 I studied Art & Design in college for a year, then afterward studied Animation for 2 years. I then took a gap year as I felt I was not ready for University during that time. During that gap year, I worked in a small convenience shop and got into a routine, as well as working on personal art and studies to learn more about colour theory, values etc that would be helpful in my University studies. It helped me become organised, developing a routine, and learn more about the creative industry. In 2017 I moved to Cambridge to start my BA Hons degree in Digital Media. Between university work and student life, I continued to grow my illustration and concept art and showcasing my work on social media platforms, in turn gaining a fairly large audience. During my time at University I had the amazing opportunity to do some work experience and work shadowing at Framestore INC in London for two weeks, as well as at the end of my degree where I was contacted and interviewed by Jade Cuttle, editor and arts commissioner of 'The Times', on innovative ways to showcase my work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
My hobbies outside of art include volunteer education in natural history, travelling, wildlife photography, cooking, house plants, and playing guitar and ukulele.
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Traditional Mediums (Watercolour, Ink, Acrylic, Textiles), Taxidermy, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Lightroom.
